The Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk (TYLT) is an annual event by Agape Youth Movement (AYM) established in 2015. In our efforts to impart leadership skills amongst young leaders, AYM established the Youth Leadership Talks. The YLTs are platforms for dialogue where young leaders discuss, to identify their current challenges in various aspects of their lives. Through these dialogues, they develop an intimate understanding and propose solutions (See www.ylt.aym.org.za).
Since its inception (2015), the annual Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk (TYLT) hosted over 2 500 participants and 36 speakers with keynote addresses by Deputy Minister responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Presidency (now Deputy Minister of Department of Higher Education and Training) – Mr. Buti Manamela (2015), Deputy Minister of Basic Education – Mr. Enver Surty (2016) and Member of Parliament – Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi (2017). The success of this programme in the past three years was through the strategic partnerships between AYM and the City of Tshwane (CoT), Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMALI), National Library of South Africa (NLSA), UNISA Radio, Project Isizwe, Tshwane FM and other partners. Delegates of these prestigious talks include learners and students in leadership positions (RCLs and SRCs), young business leaders, government representatives, and civil society.
